Circadian Rhythm

Jürgen Klanert PhD

The circadian rhythm is the body's internal biological clock that follows an approximately 24-hour cycle. It controls sleep-wake phases, hormone release, body temperature, and many other physiological processes. Disruptions to this rhythm (e.g., through shift work or jet lag) can have far-reaching effects on health and well-being.
